Other Lives
Parc de Diagonal Mar, 2012
In the setting sun at a park nearby the Primavera Sound Festival site the five-piece band from Oklahoma plays „Dust Bowl III“ – striking in its grace, underlined by a melancholic note and ended by the sound of a puppy whining in the distance. Other Lives break out in laughter before they carry us along by their performance of „Old Statues“ on a boardwalk next to lush palm trees. For the time being all the exertions of a long day seem forgotten in this oasis-setting, the skyscrapers become blurred out in the background. It’s all sheer beauty!

Parc de Diagonal Mar
Along the Avinguda Diagonal and the beach lies Parc de Diagonal Mar. Located on a disused factory site the 14-hectare park feels like an oasis in this newly built neighbourhood of wide streets and high-rises. As every decent oasis Parc de Diagonal Mar has its own water reservoir and is defined by lush palm trees and green hills. Designed by the architects Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue it’s also a place of curved sculpture elements on stony and sandy grounds. A multifaceted playground for young and old!
