Rosa Lila Villa, 2014
It’s just before Christmas. Outside the traffic roars, inside the atmosphere is all cordial with Veronika and her friends Cordula and Jasmin. However, this is more than a flat sharing community. The house hosts various LGBT community projects and the walls seem to breathe the DIY spirit. Inspired by the sparkling attitude-mix of Queer, Punk and Feminism the girls joined the Ladyfest crew (that invites girls and women to get active in music and arts) and formed their own band. For our filming session in this homely setting Tirana chose to play the rather quiet and hauntingly beautiful “Same”.

Rosa Lila Villa
Since more then 30 years the colourful house at Linke Wienzeile is a welcoming meeting place for the LGBT community with an advisory and information center, a flat-sharing community and a café. The colour spectrum of Rosa Lila Villa (meaning Pink and Purple Mansion) has been recently expanded to turquois to represent the Transsexual and Transgender Community.
